17th June 2011 - 20th June: Free and Easy Trip Day II

Rise and Shine, We woke up as early as we expected because it was too noisy outside the room. Washed up and we head for our free breakfast that tasted so-so.

A couple of shot before we headed out, that couple tee that we got it last year but no chance to wear.

Genting is having the balloon exhibition, it's balloon everywhere and they were so pretty.

First World breakfast was so-so. We only had the toast break with egg, we wasted the rest of the foods! I think the curry chicken was nice though.

After breakfast was our fav past-time; slacking in the Starbucks for wifi. ikr, i can't live without twitter, whatsapp and facebook. It was super chilling and i loves the weather.

We decided to head down to KL after that. We bought the 1100 hr tickets.
Shan, you forgot to tell me that the seats are assigned!

The bus journey took around an hour plus before we reached Titiwangsa monorail.
We purchased the tickets and head over to Bukit Bintang.

The map of the stations.

A&W for lunch

We checked in to Piccolo Hotel after lunch. We booked the hotel online so there wasn't any waiting time for the check in.

Piccolo Hotel is a 4 stars hotel and is located at Bukit Bintang surrounded by Sungei Wang Shopping Mall, Lot 10, Pavillion Mall, Farenheit Mall and Bukit Bintang Plaza. I love the location, 3-5 mins walk to monorail station and 5-10 mins walk away from Berjaya Time Sqaure. All these shopping Malls are enough to occupy me for my 2 days in KL.

Most importantly is the cleanliness of the room and the room was really comfortable that we don't mind staying in the room a little longer when we return to keep our loots.

I was a little disappointed with the housekeeping Service. We weren't told that we need to inform the counter if we need housekeeping. We thought as long as the button for room service is on will do. After the whole day of shopping, we came back and our room is still in a mess. Anyway this isn't a big issue too.

After we checked in and unpack our stuffs, we started to roam around our hotel. Lot 10 was the first shopping mall that we headed to Chinatown after that.

Monorail to Maharajalela is the nearest station, only 5-10 mins walk away from Chinatown. We printed the maps before hand so we did not lost our way.

On my way to Chinatown, i saw the coffee shop that sells my favourite Ji Dan Gao. It's located opposite the picture before. Luckily we arrive early else we won't be able to get it as the shop close at 1800hrs.
I like this drink, recommended by Shan and D's friend. Must try.
This noodle was recommended by D's friend. I don't like and luckily we ordered a place to share.

We walked a round and headed back to the hotel because the Ji Dan Gao was too heavy and there are nothing to shop unless you like fake branded.

After that it was shopping at Sungei Wang till the shops closed. We ended the night early too.

Genting 2011 day 1

I just came back from Genting and Kuala Lumpur for a short getaway with D. This is a post ORD trip for him. Although it's not somewhere fantastic but a short getaway is always good. This is the first Free and Easy trip just the two of us.

17th June, we woke up as early as 0500hr to prepare and took the early train to Singapore Budget Terminal. We were tired and excited.

It was the first time we took Tiger Airline so we were kinda don't know how to go to Budget Terminal. We actually mistook T3 for T2 :X and waited for the shuttle bus to budget terminal but i realized it fast enough so we went over to T2 immediately.

Budget Terminal is really budget enough. hahaha. Even the boarding tickets are budget.

our itinerary

The passport and the boarding pass

Our Breakfast and we walked around DFS
Boarding gate, budget enough that we have to walk the stairs up our self.

The weather was good, can you see the clear blue sky?  But our flight was kinda delayed a little due to too many planes need to take off.

Nothing better to do, before we realized, we had reached KL.

I think KL's budget Terminal(LCCT) is even more budget than Singapore, well like i mentioned it's budget Terminal so what do i expect right?
When we reached there, our luggage were out before us.

D searching for his friend. We were lucky that his friend is willing to drive us from LCCT to Genting and that means we saved RM 35 for the areobus each and saved time. WHEEE!

A picture of his friend.

He is nice to bring us to Bak Ku Teh for lunch before we head to Genting and we were so hungry. Their Bak Ku Teh is really difference from ours. Their soup is sweet and not too much of pepper but the meat is horribly hard, still acceptable and it was a treat from his friend. Don't ask me where is it because i got no idea.

After lunch we headed up to Genting and it took us less than an hour. His friend drove really fast. We took a separate way after we alighted. We went to check into First World. I got a little pissed with the check in, i got no idea what is wrong with my membership card but the waiting time was still okay as compare to those following tour because i booked my room online.

We walked around and took some tourist photos.

and we slacked at Starbucks to use the wifi. I can't live without twitter, whatsapp and facebook, really.

Finally we decided to have an early dinner at mushroom farm.

The food isn't as tasty because the portion is way too much for 2 people.

we decided to stroll up to First World because we were too bloated and full. We need to do some exercise and enjoy the weather.

Can you see the tabao-ed food? hahaha. Typical Singaporean, i know.

We shopped around and gamble a bit and that's why we won a tiny weeny bit and we ended the night.

I don't like the room that we got but we are lucky because we are staying for a night. I think the room is creepy. I heard drilling sound coming from above while i was sleeping. When i was about to fall into deep sleep, there were kids running and screaming outside the room. I did not sleep much though.

That all for the day 1. Everything ended pretty fast and we enjoyed our stay in KL more. I will blog again after i upload the pictures.
