Batam day 1 part 2

After the Spa and Massage which ended around 1630hrs (1530, Indonesia time), we went to the reception and enquired about their cab service from the resort to the shopping mall, Nagoya Shopping Centre. It’s either pay in SGD12 to and fro or in rupiah (which cost a lil cheaper after the conversion).

The main motive is to have our dinner at A&W which we can no longer found it in Singapore. The price is about the same and we have COMMUNICATION PROBLEM again. We want to change the root beer to the root beer float and yes we are willing to pay the balance but the lady just don’t allow us to change for I don’t know what reason. With the great help of D’s friend, finally we got the root beer float. Yet another communication breakdown, we weren’t charge for the amount we saw it on the menus. We thought we were being overcharge but D’s friend explained that it’s excluded GST and its 10 freaking percent. Singaporean has always been complaining about the 7% GST being charged, I feel so cheated for that moment.

I was happily taking as many pictures as I could to share it with all my beloved friends in Singapore, especially EdmundLim and Cheryl Tan.

After dinner, we shopped around the mall. Shopping with the Neo’s sisters, we spent more than an hour in just a departmental store. My nephew and D went to shop around without us, when they are back we are still in the same session. We did not manage to walk the whole mall as we spent some time in the supermarket buying some titbits, drinks...Etc. After which we decided to make our way out of the shopping mall and try out the foods along the street. We walked past a few and stopped at a stall where the lady who understand Mandarin.

We tried the gong gong, Fish,

When we are done, it started to rain heavily with cats and dogs; we tried to think of ways to get back to the mall to meet up with D’s friends. We took our cab back to the resort and call it a day. I’m glad we were safe and sound during the cab back. The driver is so reckless please and he honked countless of times.

while we were in our rooms, we heard some loud noise like gun shot. i was so afraid so D went to check on it and realised that there were people playing with fireworks.
